Over the past few years, I’ve created artworks and events in continual dialogue with temporality and the recondite. These works mine the artistic possibilities of communication, simulation and exchange, examine hypothetical modes of timekeeping, and spotlight subversions of time, logic, genre and of the criteria for life — namely producing new or renewed myths, systems and pseudo life.

ALLO is a screen-print that uses custom phosphorescent pigmentation, it requires energy radiation to unveil in short time intervals an image from a sampled martian rock veneer. Edition of 15 printed on a ceramic slab. Production by IFS in New York. 88 x 73 ½ x 3 ½ cm / 34 ⅝ x 29 x 1 ⅜ inches. 10-day production time.

Bio
Jason Mayorga is a Colombia-born multimedia systems artist based in New York.

While his works and projects come in a genre of forms (films, installations, performances, music, objects and photographs), they spotlight similar interests. The relationship and frictions between time and consensual memory is explored through events and exhibitions, a mechanism of expression in their own right that exposes the covert aspects of creation and imagination.
